Hi all. Question is how hard would it be to change a heatercore out
,instead of taking it to a shop. The truck does have a/c ,its a 1998
ram1500 4x4. Right now its a small leak issue, would like to get it
changed before it does go out. Thanks for any information, and for
letting me post. eljr64@webtv.net

It is a very difficult job and unless you are prepared to tear your dash
completely out and blow the charge on your AC unit, I would take it to the
dealer.

It is not hard or rocket science, but time consuming. Actually, once
you get everything disconnected the Heater/AC pod comes out. If you
are going to do it, then replace both the Heater core and the AC core
so that you don't have to go back for awhile. It will cost about
$1200.00 at a Dodge dealer, you can probably get it done for about
$600.00 at an independent shop. JMTCW
