Hi All! Seems that the AC in my 99 CTD Quad Sport is stays on once turned on and won't shut off from the heater controls. Anyone else have this problem and found the cure? TIA Best to all! Does the compressor clutch cycle like it normally should, or it it stuck on all the time? If so, it could be a sticking compressor clutch relay (in your power distribution center, next to the battery). If not, then it's either a bad switch in the heater controls, or faulty logic in the PCM. Hi Tom! I was thinking that the clutch may probably be sticking. Think tI might try pulling that relay next time it happens to help isolate whether electrical or mechanical problem. A sticking clutch or bad AC controls would probably (nothing is for sure you know....:-) keep it on all the time. Ed Ed, nothing is "for sure" when you drive a Dodge! Fred, My air conditioner is the same way. I found that it's better to learn to live with it and turn up the heat in the winter. No one seems to be able to fix it. Looks like the problem here is the "nut" behind the steering wheel ... plus a control that is a bit confusing. Seems that the selector position which indicates air to the dash vents and to the floor will initiate the A/C if the temp control is turned into the "blue".
