Actually we didn't do all that bad, a few leaks in the garage and out on the back porch. Lost the elec for a few hours but that's to be expected. Never was off long enough to fire up the gen. This place is well engineered so the water runs down hill away from the house and through a old plantation and into a marshy area that runs into the intercostal wasterway. So no flooding at all and minimal wind damage. The people about 30 miles from us are totally screwed. In some areas there was over 30" of rain!! Lot's of folks had 4' of water and sewerage in their neighborhood and homes. The problem now is the rivers are going to be way beyond flood stage. Oh, the power supply on the 'putor crapped out and it's a bitch to find a 550w supply in the middle of this storm. All better now.

A few years ago I heard of a situation that occurred on the beach at Old Orchard Beach in Maine. Seems a very nice family from Ohio were vacationing there. Anyway the father decided he was going to take dip in the ocean. As he lumbered down to the waters edge all sorts of screaming and shouting were heard. Mothers were grabbing their children and covering their eyes to shield them from sight of what was waddling towards them. This rather over weight, rotund creature, in a pink rabbit suit, was wearing a Speedo. That sight was enough to clear the beach. Things really went downhill from there. As this creature romped in the surf (picture that) a small armada of boats from Green Peace showed up, they swarmed this thing yelling "keep it's skin wet", as they tied ropes to the seemingly beached creature and begin to haul it out to deeper water. Wails of dismay came from this creature as it repeated, "let me go, I've gotta meet Roy for dinner" "I never miss a meal"
It all ended well, a tired and water logged rabbit made it to dinner and ate everything but the damn table. <GBMFG>
