Hello

I have a 05 GC 3.8 with 40K miles.

Recently, when I depress the brake pedal, there is a "clicking" noise
emmiting from the steering column...as I depress the brake pedal.
Brakes work fine....no lights on dash....nothing else weird....just
loud clicking noise.

Any ideas??

Tks, John

Can you feel it in the pedal as well?  Almost sounds like the
ABS kicking in.

Pedal feels fine....normal pedal feel when depressed.    Brakes are
performing  properly (not squishy or requiring any extra effort to
brake).

One click, or many rapid clicks?  Only when moving, or also when stopped?

One click.....once the pedal is depressed.   Only when van is started
(park or drive).    When van is off, and pedal is depressed....no
clicking.

All brake lights are operating normally.....and the van runs
fine....except for that annoying "click".

While the loud click isn't really common what you are hearing is the
shifter interlock. It is a safety item that requires you to step on the
brake pedal before you can move the shift lever out of park.
Probably the solenoid lost the rubber bumper that keeps it from
bottoming out.
