Raise the van on car ramps, and keeping the weight on the wheels crawl under
it and have someone bounce it up and down, look at the anti-sway bar links
for movement at the joints. This was the cause of noise on my 2000 GC that
occurred in the same situation.

I agree with the other person. Definitely sway bar link bushings.
I need to change them on my 98 caravan but it requires removing the
cradle (according to the directions I have) and I don't feel like doing
that in the near future!!!
Not hard to change the link bushings at all if the cradle was not in the
way.

I never had to remove the cradle, just unbolt the links and pop them out, ok
I had to drill one out as it was seized and broke off but other than that
it's a simple bolt off and bolt on project. I think you are talking about
the sway bar and it's bushing not the links at the end.
Yes, you have to remove the cradle to get the sway bar off.

Thank you all; was doing that a lot today too, like something knocking
around toware the middle/driver side around where the axle might be. I'll
look into it with hubby; not sure it's something he can do.

What you are hearing, is the "Spare Tire" that noise drove me nuts for
years, till a friend, noticed how lose my spare sat and when you turn or
dep, the tire will move and give you that push pull sound.
I my mind years ago, I suspected the rear axle, but it was the tire
shifting back and forth.
So check your spare, and see if it moves any, with your hands.

Well, that sounds like something easy to check first!
Thanks

That has happened to me as well. Just tighten the nut that pulls the tire up
tight (located in the back cargo area under the carpeting).

I always kinda wondered about Chrysler's method of storing the spare.
I wonder how many people have had the cable break and the spare tire go
bye-bye. :)

Though come to think of it it really sounds like it's coming from the front
1/3 of the van so I think the tire is in the rear 1/4 of the van so it seems
unlikely; sounds like front axle rather than rear.
