I recieve Pcode 0340.  I know this code is a Cramshaft Sensor Malfunction
error.  The car did hiccup before the check engine light came on so I
don't beleive it is just a sensor gone bad.  My question is how mach dmage
is being caused if I do not take care of the cramshaft misfire right away?
Does anyone have an estimate range of a cost to fix the problem.  The car
runs great except once every few days it hicups and throughs the code.
Any help is much apprectiated.  Thanks

you dont specify what kind of car it is, but normally if you have that code
and you did experience a slight miss i would replace the sensor, it could
leave you stranded

Sorry it is a 2000 Dodge Neon.  I alos meant Camshaft not Cramshaft.
Thanks for the info.  Any idea how much it is to replace the sensor?

thats still easy to replace, off hand i couldnt tell you the price, some of
these camshaft sensors have been updated to a different part, which means if
yours is the one in question you will have to cut off and solder the new
connector on the harness, make sure you ask the dealer(if thats where you
will buy it from) if you need to buy the jumper harness
