I would strongly suggest a trip to your local repair facility. Give the
history of poor performance on the engine you could be starting a
failure, it could be a transmission problem, or as simple as a busted
mount or tire problem. But one thing for sure is I would not play with
it.

I have accessed this newsgroup looking for information on this same issue.

I just did not know how to describe this problem.  When I start my car, as I
press on the accelerator, I hear this rumbling, humming sound that yes, you
can describe it as "Can feel on my foot".  It only happens when I start the
car and only for a few seconds.  It slowly goes away withing a few seconds,
then stops.

I reported this problem to the dealer last time I brought it in for an oil
change, and all he requested is to "check for transmission oil level!"  Of
course, this did not fix it.

My advisor at Dodge did not write down the explanation of my problem in my
work order and I am afraid they know of a bigger problem that they may avoid
having to pay for later on in the life of the car as part of warranties.

The dealer did this to me already when I had my driver window motor replaced
right before 36K.  They fixed it, but it started to make noises again within
a couple of months.  I reported the problem in the next three times I
brought in the car for oil changes.  They never annotated this problem in
their computer and when I finaly spoke up, they told me it was way too late
to fix as part of the warrantee since I was already at 40K.  I have a funny
feeling they did not replace the motor, but probably fixed it so that it
took me through the manufacturer warantee.  It just seems not possible that
it only took about 3 or 4 weeks for the new motor to start cranking again.

My Intrepid is 2000, with 65K miles, 2.7 engine.

Any other suggestions on the "Humming, vibrating, rumbling" sound?
