Tranny issues with vans question

My 1992 Dodge Caravan is getting old, and I need to
replace it this summer. I am down to three choices thus far. Money is
obviously a factor, but I am looking at a 2001-2002 Honda Odyssey, or Toyota
Sienna, and I have not ruled out a Dodge Caravan in the later models,
perhaps anywhere from a 2001-2003. But, do any of these vans have
transmission toubles? I hope to buy the van with 50,000 or less miles and
keep it until 150,000
or so miles. The reason I ask is I have not experienced
any tranny trouble with my 1992 van and it has 150,000
on it. It also has a tranny cooler which probably made a difference.
Anyways, any of these 3 vans I should avoid?
Any information appreciated.

Some of my wife's relatives have a Honda Odyssey and absolutely love it.
They were talking about all the wonderful features, etc, and had nothing but
good stuff to say about it.  As far as mechanical reliability, I have no
idea...I don't think they had it that long when I heard about it and haven't
heard anything more one way or the other...

I'm guessing perhaps your van has the 3.0 v6 and the 3-speed transmission?
That's what I've got...had it since 84k, and just turned 178k last week and
I (knock on wood) have never had anything done to it.  Seems the 3-speeds
hold up better than the 4-speed overdrive ones...

Yes, I have the 3.0 v6 with 3-speed transmission. I bought it used at 75,000
and now 7 years later at 150,000 total the transmission has given me no
problems,
and thats with pulling a popup camper across the USA
twice. I consider myself lucky I have had no tranny troubles given the
complaints about minvan's transmissions.
