I have an annoying problem with my 03 Ram 2500. The "lamp out" light
comes on with a warning bell about every couple minutes. Sometimes it
stays on for several minutes. I have checked every possible bulb or
light I can think of. I also checked every fuse. All fuses are ok and
I can’t find any burned out lights. One odd thing with this problem is
the warning does not sound off, nor does the dash light come on when
the truck is idleing. If I anybody can tell me how to disconnect the
warning bell for now that would help alot. Thanks for any help.

So you've checked all of the fuses and there are no lights out at all??
That is definitely strange, I'll look around and see if I can find out
where the warning bell is located for you so you can turn it off. I'll
post back later

Hello jamesdodge. Glad to hear someone else is having the exact problem as me.
I have a 2004 Dodge Cummins 4X4. It has a very strange intermittent chime
(Hate that thing) and "Lamp out" panel indicator lamp that either lights
quickly and goes off, or only comes on every 4 or 5 chimes for just a quick
flash. Some trips, it doesn't happen at all. You would think this would
indicate an intermittent bad headlight, stop, or turn signal lamp or their
connection as indicated by the owner's manuel, but all lamps work great. I
have checked all lamps, their connections, fuses like you did, etc. with no
success. The local Dodge dealer was questioned. He said there is a service
bulletin out that upgrades the computer software so that the lamp monitoring
circuit current sensitivity level is increased. Unfortunantely, my truck was
already at the upgraded software level, so no help from them. I also found
out that the chime associated with this circuit cannot be disabled by
software (only the seatbelt chime), and I have no idea how it would be
disabled hardware-wise. I wish I knew. The chime is very annoying. I can live
with the indicator lamp now that I know it is a false alarm. My farmer
neighbor suggested both batteries be disconnected for awhile, then re-
connected. Also check all battery connections. I am trying that now. Let me
know ASAP if you found the answer. I will do the same.
