Exactly. Could even be the tires needing to be balanced. You don't say
(and there's really no way to compare anyway) how bad the vibration is...
But it's ONLY on acceleration?
Is it a seemingly random vibe or is it a steady, periodic one? If it's
periodic, I'd look at any rotating object: wheels, axles, transmission
innards, balance shafts (on the 2.2/2.5), crankshaft, harmonic balancer,
pulleys, a/c clutch, etc.
If it's random... hmmm.... is there any sound to go along with? Perhaps
a pinging sort of noise? Maybe the exhaust sounds a little louder than
normal or perhaps, oh, Idunno, any sort of noise really....
Too little info to go on.

this shuddering happens every time i accelerate, but it only happens until
the car starts to move then it stops. i originally noticed it after the
lower engine mount came loose. i have since replaced all the engine and
trans mounts. the problem still persists. i thought that maybe there was
something additional in the mounts i needed to address

So, I figure that this shuddering is violent enough to make interior
decorations (console etc) rattle? Stops as soon as you get underway...
As for "something additional" in the mounts, there /is/ an alignment
procedure on some (many? all?) models. I suppose (although I don't
/know/) that it's possible for the shuddering to be related to a
maladjustment of the alignment. For example, you noticed it first when a
mount came loose... hence, the alignment was not held... could be the
same thing now, i.e., out of alignment. I'd check that. Look on the
mounts that are adjustable for paint scrapes - marks that show that a
mount bolt was in a different location or that some other movement has
happened.
If you let the engine idle, with the car in gear, and the brakes released,
so that the car will move, does it shudder or have any other signs of
roughness? Does it require a firm amount of acceleration as one would
have starting out from a stoplight, or is the amount used when pulling out
of a parking space enough to make it shudder?
HIH, but I'm running out of ideas ;-)
Good Luck

Thanks for the suggestion on the alignment of the mounts ill check. and yes
it does require a firm acceleration as from a stop light. I also have
noticed it when i am accelerating around a corner.
