I have a 96 grand caravan and am having trouble with the wipers not turning
off right away when you select the off position or what will happen is that
they will stop in the middle of their cycle instead of stopping in the
proper park position. I suspect there is a stop position switch located out
under the black plastic insert below the wiper arms. Can some body tell me
if that is where the switch is located and one other question. I went to
have a look at taking the wiper arm off so that I can then remove this black
plastic piece. The problem here is that it looks as though I will need a
pully puller to seperate the wiper arm from the wiper motor shaft. Is a
pully puller the answer.

Thanks in advance for the info

The wiper motor has a park switch built into it the will stow the arms in
the down position once the switch or key is turned off. Keep in mind that a
faulty BCM or even a multifunction switch could also be the cause. You would
have to have a scan tool connected to see if the park switch is working on
the motor.

Thanks for the info Glenn, I will look tomorrow and see if I can get the
wiper motor out and have a look at the switch. I find lately that if we only
get light rain or short periods of heavy rain everything is good but if we
are on the highway especially, it must drive the rain down in around where
ever this switch is located as that is when it really starts to act up.
Speaking of scan tool, I was thinking of getting one for home use. Can you
recommend one that I wouldn't have to take a morgage out to buy yet would
assist me in minor trouble shooting such as this problem here.

Regards
Bill

Bill im sorry but I cant recommend a good scan tool, we use the Chrysler
scan tool and the last time I priced it was $2800.00. Don't waste your time
pulling the wiper motor because the park switch is built into the motor. you
wont see anything if you remove it .

Thanks for the info Glenn, sounds like I will have to put up with the wipers
the way they are for a little while longer
