your not getting bad parts you just have a bad car.
my dad HAD a dodge stratus and had changed the tie rod ends 3 times and
also the trouble your having with yours about 4 times.
luckily the car was under warranty.
plus he had to have the whole top half of the engine replaced along with
a new catalitic converter changed and a new radiator to top it all off.
he only had the car for 3 years and traded it in for a chevy monte
carlo.
my dad and i won't buy dodge products anymore.
97 through 99 were bad years for alot of dodge cars and trucks.
your best thing to do is get rid of your stratus while it still drives.
plus all the warranty work my dad had done on the car was done at the
dodge dealer.
so where your taking it to it's not the parts or the dealer it's the
car.......just a bad design flaw on dodge's part.

I have a Dodge Stratus, now with over 138,000 miles. The only
maintenance it has needed so far is a timing belt and water pump
(besides oil, brakes, tires, battery, and a zillion wiper blades).
During our last trip to Colorado in April (800 miles each way) it
averaged over 31 MPG on the highway. It's the best car I have ever owned
so far, and the list includes Ford, GM, and Honda.
I was once a GM mechanic. Considering all the high tech features in the
07 Sky's Ecotec 2.4L engine, like direct fuel injection and variable
valve timing, the HP (170) and gas mileage (27 HWY) are very
disappointing. What did they accomplish? And because the water pump is
driven by an internal chain instead of a belt, replacing it is going to
be very expensive. (sigh)
The Sky is my wife's car, the Eclipse is mine. I have a 32 mile commute,
a mix of rural and highway, and the Eclipse gets me 33 MPG. It does not
have direct fuel injection or variable valve timing. Just a simple 2.0L
turbo with last decade technology. The Sky is much more refined, but the
Eclipse is much more fun.
