Ferraris in Toronto

Hi wondering if I might get some help...

I currently own a 2001 Corvette C5 Convertible as my summer driver and
like it a lot.

However, I have allways lusted after a Ferrari. I am doing my
research, but need some help in looking for a relatively trouble free
summer driver to replace the Corvette.

Does anyone know any dealerships or brokers in the Toronto area that
are trustworthy and can do some of the analysis for me.

I'd like to put a limit of about $25K Can above the sale / trade in
price of the Corvette, (black book around $60K Canadian). So this
gives me about $85K to $90K Canadian to spend.

Is this realistic?

Any other recommendations, models etc.?

All advice greatly appreciated.

I'd have thought you were in 308/Mondial territory with that amount of
money. Maybe a 328. The maxim of "Never buy a cheap one" particularly
applies to Ferraris - badly maintained or rotten cars are very expensive to
put right. Get a good one & it will be an altogether more enjoyable
experience. Always budget some money to bring the car up to spec when you
get it.

It probably won't be as fast in a straight line as your C5 but then that's
not really the point........

According to www.FerrariNA.com there is an authorised dealer in Toronto

Ferrari of Ontario
5243 Steeles Avenue West
Toronto
ON M9L 2W2
(416) 748-5325

No doubt a search of the web might reveal some independent dealers either in
Ontario or the northern US.

A search of Google revealed a name of "Alferi International in Toronto" as
somewhere you might also look as an independent dealer - Mostly Maserati by
all accounts but some Ferrari too.

60 grand USD for a Mondial?? My QV Cab, with less than 15,000 miles on it, is
only worth half that. And what kind of 308 is worth that much money?

Shouldn't you be sleeping, young lady?  Save the late night for clueless
vampires like myself!

;^)

p.s.  Sweetie loves you!  My vet told me in an email that she still can't
believe Sweetie is 9 years old.  I know it's that magical dry food that she
can't stop stuffing down her pie hole.  U da best - it's so hard for me to
criticize you.

Ahhhh .... not quite.

P.S.  I just saw a commercial for Target featuring Isaac Mizrahi.  I used to
think he was straight.  Good Lord ... he's like a flamer Albert Brooks.

That kind of money (about $66K US) will get you a MINT condition 328 (Hey,
Satish!  Here's a potential!  Dimitri!  Please check Satish's posts above)
with a little money left to put a coffee-can (rice) muffler system on it so
you can run it in B.C.  ...... er, just kidding.

Or, you could probably find a decent early-year Testarossa.  And most
certainly a good-condition 348 or Mondial.

But you'll have to add some pocket change if you want to get into 355
territory.

Seriously, and I don't want to plug the guy because I don't know him but,
Satish's 328 does sound QUITE well-maintained/preserved.  Perhaps you two
should talk.

All that above is true....however, that kind of money should also put
Dimitri near a 512BBi.....YUM!

Or a 308GT4 and a 412.  Hey, why just settle for one Ferrari.

Well, you are correct, as well, BUT ... of those three, I'm thinking the 512
and the 412 could end up being nightmarish in the "upkeep" department,
unless they're pristine (but not garage queens).  And a pristine 512BBi
might run closer to $80K.  I love that car, so I'm not bashing at all.  He
buys something like Satish's, and perhaps he's got a bit left over ... jmo.
