I recall a Mercedes looking concept car in Car & Driver and Road and
Track back around 1991 or 1992. It was, I think, a Scagaletti design.
Anyone have a picture? Please email it to clipper965@hotmail.com.

Thanks a million in advance.

I do believe that I had that car, in my garage, in 1992 in Garland Texas.
My son did dyno testing at Bob Norwood's in Dallas and they were very afraid
that it might be stolen (they had an important car stolen) and so my son
drove it home to our house, on a cul-de-sac, on a peninsula, with a creek on
three sides, and we put our two Jeeps in front of the garage.  Early the
next day he drove it away.  I had pics of the car, along with Bob Norwood's
333SP replications (not replicas - they were Ferrari spec) but as luck would
have it, we retired to California and the pics are somewhere.  Anyway, the
car (if it is the same car) did exist.

Are you thinking of the four door "Pinin" of 1980?

No, this was a 2 seat roadster, I think it was the prototype for the
456GT

No, this was a front - engine car, looked like they were tying to build
a Mercedes SL style Ferrari roadster.

Scaglietti hasn't designed any road going Ferrari since the 250 GTO,
iirc.

...Which was a four-seat hardtop.

Why in god's name would they do that?

[Reflects on the CL and Bentley-like 612 Scag]

Oh...

...You seem to be all over the map:  Would you have a reference, link
or picture?

(BTW:  See what I've done here?)
