Team,
Is there a 250 of some sort which looks in profile like a GTO (covered
headlamps, sloping back, small spoiler), but has vents between the door
and the rear wheels? I saw one this weekend in Connecticut, but could
not identify it.
I've just wasted a morning looking up various Ferraris on the Net and
find nothing which quite right.
Can anyone point me to a related resource?
TIA,
Jim

Can't think of any with vents between the door and wheels. several with
vents behind the wheels and the tail, but not the door. maybe a bad
replica?

Jim,
Depending on what type of vents you're referring to, possibilities
include the 250 LM (single vent openings on top of rear fenders just
ahead of rear wheels) and the 330 LMB (or the similarly-bodied 250 GTO
s/n 4713GT) with vented extensions above each rear wheel, though not
exactly between the door and wheel. Having owned a Cal Spyder, I would
expect that you would be familiar with both the LM and LMB though, so
most likely the car you saw was neither. Can you describe the vents in
more detail? Also, how were you able to determine that the car was a
250 model?

Wayne, et al,
The car I saw COULD have been a GTO with a spoiler if the front three
vents were closed. (I didn't know they could do that, but I see a web
photo of 3223 with the vents closed, so I am now a believer.) The view
I had of it was really just a glance, as it was driving past the end of
the driveway I was standing in. Everything about the car screamed 250;
the sound, the design of the front, the profile. It just didn't strike
me the same as GTOs in years past. Now that several weeks have passed,
I can't put my finger on what was different.
Thanks, Jim
