Let's catch up a bit, at least Ferrari-wise, since I've been away.
I've noticed the following:
T308 has not sold the car he has threatened to sell on several
occasions. I'm guessing he has bought a 2nd relic to join the Mexican
rescue 250.
PhilB is back (thanks for the kind email, BTW) and enjoying his 308. A
kid headed to college? Wow, time flies...
TR1 has gone to the dark side (FChat) but still slums in this bar on
occasion.
Luigi is still the resident curmudgeon and keeper of the faith.
Bert was spoofed by the resident troll.
MH has returned to prominence.
I see no signs of MC. I'm assuming he's okay... Maybe I missed a name
change?
Paul, well, we all love you Paul.
A couple new faces, good to see.
I miss anybody?
In the meantime, how does everyone feel about the state of The Marque
now? We have the 599 outrunning F40s, the 612 looking like a huge bar
of Safeguard (that's an old American deodorant soap, Duffin), the 430
is faster than it has a right to be and looks like a 360 on steroids,
complete with backne (the Enzo taillights), Eddie Griffin pulled a
Dietrich, and Maserati is coming out with improved versions of its
existing line while taking no real chances in the marketplace, while
providing a pretty good slushbox GT.
I miss anybody that time?
Oh, and F1 has turned to complete sh.t.
That is all. Discuss.

Still got it. I've decided to keep it and build a larger garage. It is
my hope to have more garage square footage in future than living space.
The wife to be doesn't mind, so I've got that going for me, which is
nice....

We're all over there in one form or another, but it's not nearly as nice
at this pub.

Well, he's returned, but to prominence?

Who can keep track of the writer formally known as MC.

The poor lad's in the US now, and I'm sure looking more miserable than ever.

The new line continues to encourage one to look backward, and that's not
a bad thing. Something tells me my cars will be running in 40 years
while these "modern" cars will become dusty relics.
Eddie Griffin pulled a

Slushbox or no, the QP is a nice ride.

Not at all. I find it very interesting this year. All change.

Well, I don't know about discussion, but I commented.

That and achieving total consciousness on your deathbed, eh?

Meh, tomato to-mah-to tomacco. He's back.

The feds?

Agreed.

Thank you for that.

That's a good point. It does encourage one to look backward.
"My, that 348 is fetching with those square taillights I..."
No, further!
"That 308 looks mighty fine! That engine note is sweet! 0-60 in what?
My sedan goes fas..."
Further still!!!
"What are all those things lined up on top of that v12? Where are the
mid-engined street cars?"
That's more like it!

I think I'm still feeling the burn from Indy '05.
Fosters and brauts will do that to you...

Not today Hunny bunny !!
McLaren are winning the head games, no doubt about it - 2 races in & Massa
is shot already.

Rev limit, Ron Dennis dictating ex post facto rules changes between
races, Raikkonen daydreaming until the last few laps today...

Boo... Hiss... Went up to Miller Motorcars last weekend, after doing
a plug change on a 308, they had a 612 and a 599 in the showroom.
The 612 is supposed to be big, it has four seats... The 599, "the
blind man's Ferrari", looks like it was designed to fit Rosie
O'Donnell* (I could be the guy they designed the Daytona around), the
thing is freaking HUGE. There's no reason for that.
There's no denying the performance advance of the thing, or the
engineering perfection of the 430, but they both are esthetic failures
compared to their predecessors. The 430 is especially egregious in
that every change from the 360 demeans or destroys something already
beautiful.
The GranTurismo is ok, the headlights are abominable, but I'll prefer
the smaller, tighter 4200 GT.

On this, we agree. I thought the 360 was a step down from the 355, but
it's gorgeous compared to the 430.

I must take offense! :-) I just traded my '95 F355 for a '00 360. It's
taken a LONG time for me to appreciate the 360's styling, but I've finally
been won over. I've been sold on the 430's aggressive styling since day
one.
