Hello,

I have to do an essay on how has Ferrari impacted on Italian design. I was
just wondering what you guys (and gals) thought.

Thank you

If you're looking for info, I can suggest the Pininfarina website to you.
Because they designed the majority of the Ferrari's in the past. They have
also a lot of info on other (italian) models of the past.

PS What is the essay for? I'm interested because I am looking for automotive
design research courses.

I can also recommend two books written by Penny Sparke to you (thought about
it later):
Italian Design
A century of Car Design

I think Ferrari's had a lot of impact on *automotive* design.  But I don't
think they've really "rocked" design world in general.  There were a lot of
cars that came out before and around the first Ferrari that were just as
monumental, such as the early Auto Union cars, and Mercedes models that came
out after Ferrari's debut.  The same could be said for the later cars like
the Jaguar C and D-Type, and the Ford GT-40.

It ain't a question of magnanimity, it's right or wrong; and you were
wrong enough to be crowned Queen of RASF1...

(_Not_ the honor one might suppose.)

I'm lost.  Clue me in, or are you talking about her?  A forgotten argument?

I'm going to argue that one car looks like another? Or not? Gods, even I have
better things to do.

There was an article in a past FORZA Magazine that discussed how Ferrari
design cues have shown up in cars by other manufacturers.
