Saw a 308 on my way to the bullfight in Cancun, pulling into a
dealership of other types of cars, and wondered what someone had to go
through to get that car there.                               I imagine
it will only be a matter of time until it is trashed due to the humidity
and sea air, not to mention the Mexicain cab drivers.
I just thought that was intresting, any thoughts?
Thanks.

There are people with a little extra spending cash everywhere, and there
are both poseurs and Ferraristi at all points of the globe these days.
There are also a lot of very wealthy drug and other crime entrepreneurs
in Baja and mainland Mexico, with money to burn and a machismo Latin
stereotype to adhere to.

I would think the salt air would be more of a hazard than humidity in
Cancun.  There's also a pretty high crime rate in the slums across from
the "hotel row", and drivers in Mexico are generally horrific.  I would
agree with you that the lifespan outlook for that 308 is likely to be
"brief".
