There are cars and there are Ferraris. I like the Z06. It's a good car. Fast, even. I'd spend hours sitting in my garage staring at the 360 CS. I'd get as much joy from just looking at it from every conceivable angle and knowing it was mine as I would lapping a racecourse in a Z06. Lapping a course in a Ferrari? Well, if I think about it too much I'll need a cigarette. No offense meant to the Z06, but it's simply not in the same league... Race your magazine stats against it all day long, I can have a jet turbine installed in a Yugo and make it go 250mph, but it's still not a Ferrari. Keep telling the world how the Corvette is just as "good" as a Ferrari. How your kid's fingerpainting is just as "good" as a Picasso, hell it's better because he doesn't put both eyes on one side of the head. Whatever, we weren't bored, but hearing Corvette commentary might just put us over the edge. You don't understand why we don't absolutely have to have whatever wins the spec-sheet wars, and we don't see why you care what we think of your cars. The thing is, we _don't_ think of your cars at all. They're just cars, not Ferraris. You don't get it and apparently you're not meant to. It's not your fault. Just ignore us. We apparently don't understand why Chevrolets are so great, even though the evidence is right there in the magazine test numbers. Just shake your head, roll your eyes and say this: "Ferrari guys... Pffffft... Well put! I will say this, I was at a place called D&P Classic Chevy in Huntington Beach today. A friend was picking up his '57 wagon that had had some body work done. They had a Nomad there, I'm not sure what year, with a supercharged Z06 engine in it. It was absolutely to die for. There's a lot to be said for Chevys - but they're not in the same league as Ferrari (or Lamborghini, for that matter). Not now, not ever. I would take the Ferrari any day, every day. The sound and the fury award belongs to any Ferrari, any time. I mean, the Corvette with the sound that I love the most is the C5R - sorry, not a street model. I do love Corvettes, though, and I don't like any of the new design changes on the upcoming 360 replacement. That said, I was really surprised that the C6 showed some very obvious 550/575 MARANELLO influences - that doesn't say much for the originality of the Corvette design team. But I always have respected John Heinricy, the guy's a stud and Corvette lovers everywhere owe that guy a huge and continuous shout-out. BTW, I didn't stick that Carrera GT article out there to start another flame war. I think the Enzo is a better car because I love Ferraris, period. I don't really care what any of the Porch guys think because obviously they love Porches and that's what they're gonna champion. To argue endlessly on an unwinnable topic is just a waste of time. And anyway, you guys in the Vette group, though mostly admirable, have one of the world's biggest f.cking idiots amongst you and he is not welcome here or probably anywhere else.
