Again, sorry if this ends up being a double post. Evidently the NNTP at
my old company now monitors my habits and allows me to two posts a day!!
:-)
When I was in NY I picked up a copy of the Sunday NY Times. In the
Automotive section (which is shitty, btw) I found a very interesting bit
of nothing:
There was a Bentley ad, covering the four Bentley dealers in NY (I
guess). For each of the four there were listings as to "available
trade-ins". I want to think the trade-ins are for Contintental GT
models, but they didn't say. But, for some of the cars I list below, I
can't imagine what the hell they'd be trading them in for other than a
GT Conti, but - it doesn't say much for the traded-in marques, at least IMO.
The breakdown:
5 Mercedes, various models
2 Aston Martins - 1 an '03 Vantage and 1 an '03 Vanquish
4 Rolls-Royces, including *1 2004 Phantom*
2 BMWs, both Z8s
1 Jaguar, a '62 XKE
7 Porsches, including *1 2004 Carrera GT*
3 Ferraris, including 1 older Daytona and 1 '03 575M
1 Maserati Cambiocorsa
1 Lamborghini *2004 Gallardo*

People trading in one of those cars could be buying one of the other ones. A
Mercedes being traded in for an Aston Martin. That sort of thing.
