Rubens Barrichello leads the way at Interlagos
Brazilian GP - Second practice
www.f1-live.com/en
For nine years running Rubens Barrichello has failed to finish his
home race at Interlagos. For Brazilian race fans Barrichellos failure
to finish his home event combined with the fact that he was the last
Brazilian to score points at the circuit back in 1994, means this year
must surely be his year? Barrichello got his race weekend off to a
perfect start this afternoon at Interlagos as the Ferrari driver
lapped the 4.309-km circuit in record time to stop the clock in just
1:11.166 seconds.
To put the time into perspective Barrichello started last years race
from Pole Position with a time over 2.5 second slower. The Bridgestone
shod Ferraris didnt show a great deal of pace in the first practice
session, but come the chequered flag it was a Ferrari one-two with
Barrichello leading Michael Schumacher by 0.168 seconds.
