Paul Duffin - 14 Apr 2005 07:52 GMT Not sure if I said we were off (my laptop died), but anyway...
Nice to see some activity in here. I owe many e-mails, but for now:
Mikey! Got your package!!! Thanks! You da man. I suppose I'd better get scanning all the pics so I can put 'em up.
T308 - Did you ever get that 'loose ends' e-mail I sent you?
Tiger - Are you EVER going to e-mail me again?
Matt - Our best... you know what I'm saying
Iaiaiaiaiain - I'll call you today!
Blimey! Gotta go to work.

Whether or not you like the content is immaterial. Did I not send you one or two of the Punk-O-Rama volumes? It's great music to smash up your house to.
I'd give you call right now, but I imagine you're kind of busy. I've been indulging in little of that Johnny Blue the Generous T308 sent to me. (That is his new title from now on.)

But, a Ferrari question did hit me while I was out there. My favorite "Victory by Design" is the Ferrari one, of course. And near the end, De Cadenet gets to take a short spin (longer on the DVD, I'm sure) in an absolutely orgasmic yellow Drogo-bodied P3 (I *think* it's a P3). But I have never been able to find good photos, let alone wallpaper-quality stuff, of any of the Drogo-bodied models. Were they really that rare? Are they all still in existence? I hear stories about Eddie Van Halen and Nick Mason having a couple each of those, but there are never any pictures anywhere. Even Sheehan never has one for sale, or Symbolic. Do any of you illustrious tifosi possess such pictures of these things? I don't think there's any on your site, Thomas. I've looked a lot of places.
Of course, right now I couldn't find a bowling ball if somebody put it on my keyboard. However, that's nobody's business but me and Johnny Blue's.

Yeah ... that is pretty much abominable, as far as what it really is. But it looks good enough for my purposes, which was WALLPAPER. All I want is one 1024x768 of that yellow beauty Alain is fondling. Can't some of the rich bastards that own the real P3s and P4s take their hands off their w.nks long enough to snap a tasty pic for my computer screen? C'mon GUYS!! It's only a 17" monitor, for chrissakes!

Guy's who own a real P4s ($10-, $15Million?) aren't here, they're managing their portfolios.
...that one's a FAKE, Mike. Like Pam Anderson's tits: The proportions not quite right and the innards quite unreal.

It doesn't surprise me that you would not even deign to grace your monitor with a wallpaper of something not genuine, but at that point I didn't care.
However, you did fix that up kind of nicely with the one you sent. And I know it's not in your garage. Or is it?
BTW - the blue pills aren't working, either.

On P4's, here's an interesting piece:

Also the subject of a NY Times piece, iirc.

I've had a real good re-look at that P3/4 photo today, and DAMN, if that isn't EXACTLY what a race car should look like... Except in red.

I found some AWESOME web sites with some killer vintage racing photos, including Ferrari 512, Lola T70, etc. Some wallpaper sized. I'll put 'em here if anybody wants to take a look.
Also, if I didn't send this to anybody already, this guy has some very interesting viewpoints in his ARTICLES/ARCHIVES and EDITORIALS section. Also some bitchin' cars for sale and other minutiae.

First, no given names on news groups, good man. Second, my Crew Chief rather appreciates my *weird habits*. You should be so lucky! He can sleep right thru my late night typing. Lastly, you're right. He is about the most *normal* guy you're likely to meet. Except for that whole Bad a.s Race Car Driver thing. Other than that, he's positively mundane.
<<BTW, which World Challenge races are you running this season?>>
Not enough! That's for sure. Fer instance, you won't see me on the almost live broadcast tomorrow morning from Road Atlanta. What you will see is that all those new rules meant to slow the field down, the restrictors and added weight and such, have had the cumulative effect of making the entire field about 1 second faster than last year.
I am so screwed.
<<isn't that your car that kind of blips through the commercial for the Series this season?>>
I dunno. I haven't actually seen any of the commercials. It would be nice if it was me though. SCCA is doing a much better job of mentioning Ford as one of the manufacturers competing this season. I even got mentioned by name as representing the marque in an article earlier this year about the series. Woohoo.
