Michael Delaney - 20 Apr 2005 07:25 GMT >>>>Some people would paint bigger tits on La Gioconda... >>> [quoted text clipped - 24 lines] > > ;-) The Norwood ad was indeed my doing. Now, I have to say I still am in love with that black "GTO conversion". I just don't care what anybody says. There's a time to be proper and there's a time to be cheap and sleazy.
As far as the red GTO "recreations" ... well, they look nice on the outside, as long as I knew what it really was I couldn't really look sopmebody who owned one in the eye without giggling a bit over the money he/she spent. I mean, COME ON. If you can drop $225K on something like that, can't you just up the ante a lot more and buy something that's relatively real?
But ummm ... what's wrong with the Aston? The engine? I think that cars beautiful. Doesn't the Vanquish have a V12? So it's a Vantage with BALLS.
Life's too short to be Mr. Stickler For The Original about everything!! Most of us, and you too I would imagine, couldn't afford the original of a lot of cars we like, and probably never will be able to. In SOME cases I don't mind a bit of bastardization.
Anybody dreading CBS' coverage of the San Marino race this weekend as much as I am?

I could give a sh.t, personally. It's nothing but a bunch of pomp and gild, with nothing of any substance ever coming of a single thing that comes out of their mouths, while in the meantime so many of the Vatican's "designated messengers", at least in this country, are busy playing the mouth organ with the altar boys. And now the spectacle begins. Jeez, a guy farts while he's on the balcony and news analysts pundit while showing scenes of quivering, quaking Catholics around the world. White smoke, black smoke, pot smoke. I think I'll take Door No. 3 and leave the rest to the idolaters.
I won't even start on the UNgodly amount of money the Catholic Church possesss and does NOT use to help the poor and unfortunate among its constituents.
What a crock. Yes, I'm bitter. Maybe someday I'll get the faith back but right now all I've ever had my prayers answered with is a sh.t shower.

Indeed.

You've never actually driven a Vanquish, now have you?

Tiger Racing - 21 Apr 2005 18:33 GMT There's no shame in the fact that you've never had the privilege of driving an Aston. Just admit that you don't know what you're talking about, again, and we'll move on.

I'm going to the Coachella Festival next weekend (Nine Inch Nails, Coldplay, The Chemical Brothers, Wilco, The Prodigy, and Snow Patrol, among others!), and then I'm going to drive to the OC to surprise my parents before they leave for Europe, and then on to party with my buddies. It is those nights that the Blue will die.
Actually, I'm surprised it lasted this long. In fact, in honor of your post I'm going to have a finger or two right now. I'm having a "24" orgy - 4 episodes in a row on tape, no commercials!! Maybe a replay of Nextel Cup qualifying after that - it's in Phoenix this weekend but my roommate and I can't make it.
Doesn't this new conversion make you sick? Yeeeedoggie!
I will readily admit that I am salivating for F1 this weekend. And I really enjoyed all the racing last weekend, including the replays of the Grand Am at Fontana (love those Mustangs!) and the Trans Am at Long Beach (love those Jags!)
I know my NeckCar conversion seems ominous, but remember that I have always been a fan of ALL racing, and living here where people wear NASCAR driver jackets even in 100-degree heat (I have the Viagra Mark Martin one), it was only a matter of time before I started tuning in. My first loves, however, will always be F1 and Le Mans. Always.

It's kind of gaudy (blue and red Valvoline colors along with Viagra logos, it's from last year) but it fits right in around here. Of course, it's retired for the spring and summer because of the coming heat. I'm not like the fools walking around Wal-Mart in their "Little E" jackets when it's 94 degrees out.
