As more practical cars than the two seaters.

What about in comparison to the Mondial?

Depends on your budget and long term goals.  I am looking for a wrecked
412 just for the 12 cylinder motor as a donor for an old Testarossa
body I aquired.  The Mondial is basically the 3x8 motor.  Mondial is
much cheaper to maintain and find parts for.
Personally I find the Mondial, 400 and 412 to be horribly ugly
vehicles.  But to each his own.
Why not buy a 328 and a minivan?  Then you have the practical part
covered :-)

Very cheap to buy now but that's mostly because many of them are suffering
from near "terminal  tinworm". Besides that there really isn't that much
room in the back unless you happen to have very small children or
co-habitate with elves! Mechanically these are NOT cheap cars to run either.

The Mondials are good solid cars based on the 308/328 from a mechanical
perspective which makes them cheap to run (relatively!). The Mondial T has
basically the 348 mechanicals & so is a bit quicker but also more expensive
to service. Personally I'm not very keen on the Mondial interior though the
Mondial T is better looking inside. The Mondial looks best to me as a Cab.
with its roof down. Not really too sure what turning it into a Cab. did to
it as far as handling & weight (performance) are concerned but I'd be
surprised if it didn't have a noticeable impact on both.

Yes, I was thinking of the odd emergency when you need to transport two kids
and one could go in the back.

Thanks for the comments.
412's sem very thin on the ground and as you say most of the 400's have
"interesting" bodywork.
Any very good ones I have seen have been too expensive for what they are.
