Iv had my Marea for a couple of weeks now and it drives perfect beside a
rattle from the cat heat shield..but thats not the problem...
on a recent long Journey i found when i touched 70 MPH my speedo...rev
counter and petrol dials all went haywire..swinging from 0 to 160 miles
and hour, my petrol dial went from full to empty and back... my rev
counter went the same way..and this dancing of my needles continued for
the whole journey.....when i restared the car in the morning even though i
was doing 20/30 miles and hour the gages kept jumping from the lowest to
the highes levels..Anybody got any idea what this is..the car still drives
like a dream but the dials go haywire all the time now when i drive

Looks like you have abad connection to the dash panel / instrument cluster.

As all instruments are affected I would suspect a power supply (+ve or
ground) problem.

The other possibility is if the instrument head is a 'node' on the newer
serial computer link system that many modern cars, like Fiat, have, then it
is a faulty communication link.

I don't have access to Marea circuit diagrams so cannot comment on your
configuration.
