Hello,

Does anyone know for sure if the 1242cc 16v engine as used in the mk2
Punto Sportings are non-interference engines?

TIA

Mine does not. What exactly do you mean with non-interference anyway?
Greetings, E-Cie.

I mean in the way FIRE engines are non-interference as in if the timing belt
snaps then the valves are not damaged, bent etc.
All the 8v Fiat FIRE engines are 'safe' IIRC just wondered about the 16v
versions.

Allright! For that matter i have to agree with Spark. The valves (and maybe
more) will be damaged when the timingbelt snaps. So better replace in time,
i suppose.
Greetings, E-Cie.
