This might be a daft question to those who know...but I am NOT a car person..a - b is all i need....anyway...

When i put my handbrake on, should I have some lights come on, on the back of the car? I was just thinking today on the way to work that there seemed to be an awful lot of brake lights on for a v.long time!!

It made me wonder because I have been getting a warning light on the dash every now and then...maybe once a week or so, where there is an amber light in the shape of a bulb. It only comes on for around 10 seconds or so and then goes off. (This is as i'm driving). I've had the car (2nd hand) for about three-four weeks and have had the warning light come on say about 5 times while driving normally.

All brake lights work on footbrake, indicators ok, heads ok, tail lights ok....So you can understand what i was thinking in relation to the handbrake and the lack of lights at the back?

I dunno.....any thoughts would be cracking.

Cheers

Sure not ! The rear lights only come on when foot braking !

This indicator means (theorically) that one of the 3 bulb lights is out
of order. Especially if it stays on.
But if it goes on and off, it's merely a false warning.

Sometimes I also have this light going on but all the bulbs are OK.
I consider that all these indicators give more worries than they
really help :(
