Please help me!
I found a fiat 126 an I want to buy it but I hava a little problem:
the engine does not look like other 126 engines I saw on pictures. The
picture of that engine can be found at http://microsoft.go.ro/10x.jpg

Thanks,
Razvan Dobre

My computer locked up trying to get to the above address. Is there a
problem with the address or what?

There are two models of the 126, Air cooled (this engine), and water
cooled (126 BIS).  Make sure you are not looking for a water cooled
engine.

I drive a Fiat 500 rather than a 126, but the engine looks pretty
standard to me, although I do see a few differences.

The boxy head is more representative of a Fiat 126 - 650 CC (I believe
the smaller engines (600CC) have more fins on the head).  Or, perhaps a
Panda head.

The cowling looks different than what I am used to.  The 500 engines have
the aircleaner mounted directly to the cowling around the 479, 499,
and 600 cc engines.  I am not sure about 650 engines.

The cowling on the right is much boxier than I would anticipate.
Everything I have seen has smoother curves.  Perhaps it is home made.

The rear - left head bolt looks a bit funky.

Overall, I assume it would run, or could be made to run and would fit
into a Fiat 126 chassis.  However, you are right that some aspects of the
engine may be non-standard.
