Over the past few days my girlfriends Cinq has been progressively more
difficult to get in gear.
It seemed to start at first with the car being difficult to get into
reverse while parked in our drive (slight slope, back ned upwards), it
actually crunched when she finaly got it in.
Then i moved onto first gear at any time, progessively getting more
difficult. This has now spread to all the gears and reverse is very
bad, always making some sound or another when engaged.
The weird thing is, that all the gears are very slick when the engine
is not running. They feel perfect, even reverse.
Has anyone got a clue what this is.
(it is a cinq sporting, '96 P)
Thanks in advance,
Mr Winkey

Same thing happened to my Renault Espace. The clutch was biting slightly - but not enough to make it pull forward when the clutch was depressed.
I adjusted the clutch cable and it worked perfectly.
