When its been really cold, in the morning the car is a pain to start. It
will start first time then cut out after 10-15 seconds.

When trying to start it again, you have to keep revs up and also it sound
like a tractor for the first few seconds.

Also, when driving, say going 80mph at 4k revs, the injector light will
come on, and the revs will drop to the bottom, and car, for a split second
dies, as if stalling.

Its really pissing me off, and can be dangerous, esp, if i go to pull out
and loose all power for a split second.

Any advice would be reallly appreciated. As i say, it only happens when
its been really cold, i.e a frost.
Its 1.2 16v  punto cab on an r plate.

If this is happening on a semi regular basis, and bearing in mind the
seriousness of engine dropout at speed, espacially with possible hydraulic
power steering, then I would bite the bullet and get to car to a Fiat dealer
or other garage with the necessary kit to examine the ECU for fault codes
and run dynamic tests/monitoring.

Being an R reg Punto I think it predates the CAN (Controller Area Network)
OBD (on-board diagnostics) infrastructure (circa 1996/97) and thus one is
most probably restricted to a Fiat Dealer or Fiat specialist garage.

I have taken it to Fiat and had ECU read but it came back with no
problems.
Last night i sprayed the engine and elec componants with wd40 and it
started first time no probs, and during driving, injector light didn't
come on once.

This can happen.  Depending on the model/ECU intermittent faults are not
always logged as when it clears the system says Ok.  Other systems set a
fault count and the count is only cleared after n hours or y starts of
trouble free running.

Sometimes the only option is to drive the car straight to a suiatable
equiped garage/dealer and DO NOT turn the engine off.  The fault will
hopefully still be present, epsecially if the warning light is still on.

If this problem keeps on recoccuring then I can see soem fun and games
coming your way :-)
