non starting scudo 2.0turbo deisel

i was travelling home when power loss was aparent in the engine i rev it up
and for a distance it was ok then it went again and again until it stopped
and guess wot it would not start again its at stone acres dealers garage
now in doncaster and the computer there does not know what to do and
neither do the mechs so I turn to the public people of the Kingdom to test
their brains?

Any fuel in the tank,  or getting to the engine  ?

Air getting in to fuel circuit possibly via slightly loose fuel filter?
