My 97 Explorer has dirty headlights. It's not producing a lot of light.
The problem is, it's dirty inside the headlight lens. How do I clean the
inside. Are there tools or chemicals to do this?
Seems to me headlamps are generally sealed, so accessing the inside will
be virtually impossible.
There are a number of products to restore and polish the outer lens, but
if the problem is with the inside the best thing might be to replace
them.
Do a google search (www.google.com) and type "Ford Explorer headlights"
or something similar. You're likely to get a lot of options, and
reasonable pricing.
Best of luck.

They fit the same as the originals.

There is the hole where the bulb goes.

Sealed with a silicon O-ring and a hefty (considering it's simple task)
plastic bulb retainer........
If there is contamination inside the headlamp pod, I would suspect some sort
of leak..... possibly the kind of leak that might allow rainwater to contact
the bulbs on some dark and thankless night...
