Well, looks like I may have to deal with the ol blend door problem. Cant seem to change the temp of the air from the vents. Hot all the time...Cant hear the door moving anymore...MAX AC seems to work slightly. My question is, Did Ford/Merc change the design for the 2000, or is this just the same old flaw from the late 90 models ?
FWIW, check your temp guage. I had a thermostat stick closed and the
computer shut the AC off.

Signature
FWIW; AFAIK; IMHO; YMMV; yadda, yadda, yadda.

Thanks for the response ! The temp guage is normal. I dont hear the blend
door lightly clunking anymore like it used to. This is really a friggin
bummer, as the truck is in such good shape, and I just bought it 9 months
ago. The link to repair looks worth a try, I am just concerned about
screwing up and making matters worse. The heat variation doesnt bother me
at all, but if the AC cant keep up this summer I'm gonna be pissed. So
I'll be trying the do it yourself fix this summer depending on how the AC
deals with the heat. I am also going to try the diagnostics on the heat
control, doubt that will tell me much though

The do it yourself fix worked for me on my 1996. Give it a try:
