Having trouble with display brightness coming and going. It's normal then
goes dim. Anyone else experienced this problem?

The display will dim during the daytime if it's dark enough for the
automatic headlights to come on, if you have that option.

I have that option but this happens in bright sunlight.

I drive with my lights on and the instrument planel dimmer in the low
setting. Periodically the "Computer Message Center"
(odometer/MPG/Trip/compass display) will flash bright then revert to the
low setting.
Ford has replaced the dimmer, Computer Message Center.
I'm thinking I have wire that is pinched or chaffing and it periodically
grounds, or I have a crack in the computer circuit board that feeds the
Message Center.

Thoughts???
