Bearing noise from front drivers side 97 Explorer 2WD. Replaced bearings
and rotor. Testing rotor on installation and hear noise. Notice slight
markings on ABS wheel sensor. Torqued to lowest recommended setting but
exciter ring still brushes sensor.

Appears spindle has worn and allowed exciter ring to brush against sensor.

Any suggestions short of replacing spindle?

If the spindle is worn or bent enough for the sensor to touch the tone ring,
there is only one logical conclusion.
