Someone mentioned to me today that there is a recall for the transmission on my 03 mountaineer. I have not been notified by Ford but was wondering if I missed it. Something to do with the filter. I signed up my 2002 when I got it. Then I heard about the recall for the rear hatch and kept checking the site and it kept saying no recalls for your vehicle. I got the letter about the recall from ford, waited and then had if fixed. It wasn't till after I had the recall performed at the dealer that it suddenly showed up on my recall list on myford. Seems like it is worthless. We need to remember that many of these forums are driven by revenues... the more hits, the more their advertisers pay. There is no need for meaningful (or even truthful) content. All that is required is that people come to view the site and be exposed to ads.... There is a transmission fluid recall for some 5R55E transmissions. If you are the orignal owner of your vehicle, you should have gotten a letter from Ford regarding the recall. If you are at alll nervous that you have "slipped through the cracks", you should take your VIN to your dealer and have them check OASIS to see if yours is covered under the recall.
