My evap core leaked all the ac oil. Shop wants almost a grand to fix it.
Does not look like such a hard repair. Anyone do this before?

Also,
is this a good time to change the blend door when the evap is off? Can you
get the blend door as seperate piece or u have to buy the plenum.

thanks

I would not think the evap core should be tghat much to replace. Is
something lese shot, like the compressor?
Maybe another estimate is in order.

The OEM part is 450 (but I can get it for 300). It includes the Evap and
the entire housing. Ford does not sell the bare core. The rest is labor and
the A/C charge.

I'm planning on getting a name brand evap core only ($120), doing it
myself, then bringing it in for a $100 evac and charge.

Im also changing the dryer since it was exposed to air. Its only 50 bucks.
