No I didn't do the soldering.  My eyes aren't what they used to be, much
less the steadiness in my hands.  I did the Save My Sanity swap at
www.shareamemory.com/radio and got the board which included very detailed
pictures of the procedure and concise instructions on how to fix the
problem.  You'll find that if you can get the radio out of the dash (they
have instructions at the web site), you've pretty much done the hardest
part.  My neighbor has signed my up to do his Explorer too.

Though some purists may disagree, I have nothing against a bit of
advertising on this newsgroup ... as long as it's done openly.
And by the way, can you explain how is your refurbished display board better
than a brand new one from Pioneer for the same price?
