'93 explorer radio: how to remove it

There are 4 holes.  Someone said to use a coat hanger.  True?

The proper tools are about 4 bucks at the parts store...

In the time it takes to read this post, you could have had the radio laying
in your lap.

Ditto, the Scosche DIN Radio Removal Tool is ~$5.00 at walmart:
