motor sounds loud

I have a 2000 xls 4 door 4wd with the 4.0 ohv i bought the truck used with
63k miles on it the motor had 30k it now has 93k miles when i start it up
the motor seems to very loud more when it's cold out when it warms up it
gets quieter but stills seems a little loud some time it sounds like a
diesel i know this is a common problem with the sohc witch is why i looked
for a ohv any ideas on what could be the problem would be great thanks

Like marbles when idling ??????

Try running a bottle of techron

and ONLY use regular gas

thats what it sound like marbles i do run it on regular gas i live in N.Y.
only trump can buy the good stuff but what is techron i have not heard of
it isn't it a additive in oil

Techron is what chevron puts in its gas, its also sold in bottles.

Its 1 of the additives for fuel that actually works.

You can purchase them at CostCo. They are actually relatively cheap in
price.

ok i the techron on the shelf at pep boys used 2 bottles of this stuff and
tne noise was cut down alot thanks for the great info

If the "loud" sound is under the hood, it could be a bad hydrostatic fan
clutch (or one that's going bad and sticks when it's cold).
