96 Explorer XLT steering wheel mounted cruse control buttons cover with
"on" "off" "coast" "resume" etc lettering is cracking and falling apart.
This is just the soft plastic cover, the actual pushbuttons and lights
underneath are fine.

Is there a replacement part?

Any ideas how to handle this if no (new) part is available?

Thanks,
Harry

I got my replacements on Ebay.  They were used, but uncracked....You
have to remove the airbag pad/horn pad to get at the screws that hold
these inplace.  The installation is pretty easy...You'll need to take
proper care not to discharge the airbag though, there should be tips
in this ng somewhere on how to do this....

You can get the replacements from the dealer...I've done it twice for my
96EB AWD (256K).  One important note...MAKE SURE YOU DISCONNECT THE BATTERY
BEFORE SCREWING AROUND WITH THE AIRBAG.

Otherwise, they're a snap to replace
