Greetings All,
I have a 98 Explores with 48K miles. All of a sudden the vehicle has
started putting out a hum at approximately 30 mph. I can't feel any
vibration or nothing else seems to be wrong. When I speed up the hum goes
away.
I know that is not much information to go on, but if anybody has an idea
what would cause this I would appreciate their comments.

I had a similar problem with my '98. I am not a mechanic so I do not know
the exact parts involved. It turned out to be the bushings or what ever they
are called in the drive shaft. The repair at a tire place was $125.

I have the same problem with my 2000 5.0L AWD Explorer. It started about
a month ago. My truck has 35,000 miles. I was suspecting the front
differential?
