At least for September anyway...

Ford Falcon 7409
Holden Commodore 7361

Ford Falcon Ute    1943
Holden Commodore Ute 1525

Ford Fairlane 367
Holden Statesman 344

Total Sales Falcon 9737
Total Sales Commodore 9359

According to those figures that means there are 18 Falcons
and 129 Commodores which do not fit into those categories...
Does that mean LTD and Caprice???  Do you think the Monaro's are
included in those figures too?

Well, while we are here arguing about pulsating discs and leaking
290Boss's the rest of Australia just "Can't get enough of this!"

Sorry had to say it.

Do those stats include FPV and HSV?

I think FPV and HSV get separate billing - it would be interesting to see
their figures too, but
when FPV have just three products its hardly a competition there...

Bring on the FPV turbo.

What a turbo-V8? That would be extremely cool.

There were rumours about a GTHO when FPV was started, would be cool to see
that. A definite GTS killer (if the GT isn't already -- you could buy a GT
and get a Focus Zetec with the spare cash instead of getting a GTS :)

Cheers

GTS killer?  According to Motor magazine times the GT isn't even a T3
killer.  We haven't got faster yet we've just got a weight increase to match
the power increase.

True. But the GT has plenty of torque. According to a liftout in the West
Australian Newspaper the GT is only 10kg less than the GTS and has more
torque. (of course it has 10kw less power).

The Tickford TE50 is doing waaaay better than the GT in the Australian
Production Car championship. The TE50 can (and does) beats the GTSs, but the
GT is only around the bottom of the top ten. (Though I think that may have
something to do with the GT's driver :)

I reckon Ford should put some effort into making the entire Falcon range
lighter. Especially XRs and GTs. Aluminium, anyone?

Cheers,

Daniel.

The TE50 in this class has been racing much longer than the GT so has
had the benefit of more development. It also has some concessions,
mainly aluminium heads and is in fact developing around 300KW from its
stroked Windsor, the Boss motor I believe isn't developing much more
than this atm.

PS - the TE50 driver last year was Trevor Haine and he went well in it
too, so I don't think you can blame it on him :)

OK. I have only been following it for one season.

Oh, and, I meant GT Performance (as you correctly assumed :) not Production
Car champtionship. (btw the XR6T is doing OK in the production category)

Replying to myself -- first sign of madness. :)

Now returning to the GT v GTS idea. A GT is $30 000 less than a GTS, so for
30-grand could you

* Sell the Boss 290
* Get the supercharged V8 from American 2004 Ford GT (500hp)
* Put that in the Falcon GT
* add All-wheel-drive (perhaps from the new Ford Territory)
* and give it a fancy paint job with the spare change?

I think that would run circles around any GTS. :) Dunno if its feasible
though.

Cheers,

They are listed seperatly as Monaros

I don't know the FPV sales, but I have heard that they are doing
extremely well too.
