I'vw only seen the first five minutes of the Channel 7 telecast and it is
clearly obvious that the event is a Peter Brock benefit - they are trying to
give hime a 10th Bathurst victory.

f.cking farcical I say.

Only early hours, lets see what pans out after 24Hrs. for Mr.WifeBasher

The Monaro should not even be running, esp. since they canned the limited
production edition

Look for Porsche 1st at the finish line

Yes - this was suppossed to be a production car based category. Now that
Holden pulled the plug on the 2 door Commodore with the 7 litre Corvette
engine, it should not be allowed to race. But instead PROCAR changed the
rules to suit Holden. They'll never earn a cent from me - I refuse to attend
any races which are run by PROCAR.

With just over two hours to go the two 2-door Commodores are running one and
two with no opposition to worry about (which is how the category is
structured - a Holden promotional benefit)

I'm am confident that if it stays this way that they will either tell the
427 car to allow the 05 car to pass, or bring it into the pits for a
fictitious problem therefore allowing the 05 car to win and give Peter a
10th Bathurst victory.

Told you so - they brought the 427 car into the pits and the team were all
feviroushly working away under the rear of the car with their spanners. But
nothing was changed! All made for good television and had the desired result
of putting the 427 car back to second place.

What a load of sh.t.

In my mind, gone are the good days of Bathurst  the near stock cars, the old
track, never to be repeated  even the Cooper S days are sadly missed.....

Not just your mind, most that have memory of the early day races agree with that
100%

Some use to DRIVE the "race"-car to the track, prepare it and race it, then
drive it home, check out the early photos
and you can see the plates on them

Yeah todays "supercars" have no relation to what we drive, just like the
NASCAR's in USA

I agree, they had a physical, but not necessarily a performance, similarity
to what you could buy from the dealers.
