Hi guys,

Had the head done on my 4L EBII about a year ago. I now have a small oil
leak at the front centre of the head gasket. There is no mixture of oil /
water occuring. Can I 'patch' this up somehow...ie a bit of silicon or
something? What should I use and how shoukd I go about it.

Thanks,
Lindsay

Take off ya rocker cover and check a semi round rubber seal or gasket  might
be worn down  costs about 9.95 from ya local ford dealer  and can do it
yourself

that's the timing chain cover leaking, don't be too worried about it at all.
if you can seal it, all well and good, if not, don't bother, its a c.nt of a
job to remove.

Some Ford head are also porous at the font.  The 3.9 MPEFI in my
NB Fairlane actually had a very small hole in the front centre
of the head about 1mm in diameter that used to seep oil.  Some
of that metal putty fixed it.

Thanks for the replys.
The leak is not from the seal Peter D mentioned unfortunately but does
appear to be from the head gasket. The only reason I am worried is because
the oil leaks down onto the belts causing them to slip.

Clean the area up and slap a bit of the old silcone across the front,
did it to my old EA wagon a few years back and it did the job nicely.
