Hi All,
I've seen people advertise 351 Clevo's stating it has an XE thick-wall
block?

Can anyone elaborate on what this means?

Thanks in  advance,
Sutto

This means nothing.
The XE 351 was the same as all the others - just the last ones.

I'm sure I read somewhere where the later Falcons with the last of the
clevos were a little thicxker to stop 'core distortion' or similar????

The cylinder wall thickness on the last of the Cleveland blocks fitted to
the XE series were reputedly a tad thicker than that of other locally made
blocks, but I've never seen any evidence to suggest that this is anything
but an old wives tale.

Considering that Ford had been planning to scrap the Cleveland with the XE
series, and that previous Clevelands didn't have any particular problems in
the bore thickness area, it would seem unlikely that they'd alter the
casting process so near to the planned end of engine production...

Regards,
Noddy.
