can anyone help,
my 92 eb11 occasionally wont start everyting else seems fine till you turn
the key to start then nothing happens, after a few seconds to as long as 4
minutes it kicks over fine. i have tried the transmition switch, seems ok,
it happens some times a few times a day and sometimes not for a week. any
advise would be great

Wire loose on back off ignition lock is a common problem.

could be faulty ignition switch.......
run a horn relay from 12v to the starter ( pins 30 & 87 ) and switch it with
the ignition wire to earth (pins 85 & 86 ).....
i`ve seen that fault before....
or , neutral start switch is faulty....
Brad....

Oh, it is.
ITs where the "smart lock" lives and causes such symptoms if faulty. not
knowing exatcly how the system on the eb works, it could be the module that
detects that the correct key has been inserted too. You'll know if its this
as the smart lock light will be flashing very fast when you try and start
the car, there will be starter action for a while and wont fire, then it
wont engage the starter at all. thats how Au's work, very doubtful if the EB
is as advanced though.
This just seems to be a bug in some AU's, just removing power to the car for
5 minutes resets everything back to normal.

is the starter a bit slow craning sometimes ?. sounds like it may need
brushes. or maybe the commutator machined.

A common problem with the tibbe lock ignition was the wiring block on
the back of the ignition barrel comes loose, if this is the case, it
can be fixed easily, just pull the covers of the steering column and
have a look at it. It will cause what appears to be BCM problem etc
too.
