Hi Group
  Can you advise me please.
I have a 10/93 5 litre V8 Ford Fairlane It developed a shudder in the
Transmission The rear seal had let go and water got in  and stuffed the
Yoke.So I had the Extension housing and yoke replaced with new
parts.Seal ETC. then changed the filter and oil but it is still in limp
mode the shudder has gone but the speedo is still not working it
stopped working when the transmission went into limp mode what do I need
to do I live out in the sticks miles from Darwin and the local mechanic
is not up with Electronics.
Thanks in Advance John

the Speedo sensor is probably stuffed, its on the right hand side of the box
at the rear and connects to a cable, you should be able to change it
yourself.

without this working properly the computer wont know when to change gears
anyway, its most likely all that the problem is.

not exactly sure...
could try disconnecting the battery overnight and see if that resets the
computer......
might need to be hooked up to diagnostics and removed that way.....
or , a trans problem might still persist....

see how ya` go...

codes?  If not start here:

Hi guys thanks for your input,Unfortuntley I will have to drive it
slowly into Darwin to a Autotrans Workshop Distance of 126 klms what
damage will this do?
I have replaced the speedo sensor but the Speedo is still not working
Tacho works though.I will disconect the battery overnight and see if
this resets the computer.
Has anyone any idea on how to get the radio code rather then annoying
the local Ford Dealer Year model of car 10/93 with the genuine Radio
\Cassette.
Thank you all for your help (:)

No Dave it was fine must be something in the Extension housing the
mechanic said he didn't notice anything wrong but he wasn't looking for
anything when he had the extension housing out he replaced the sender
unit without taking the housing out again.
