This may sound rediculous but i am having grief with my wipers. changed them
to new one's (which was a pr*ck of a job) and ever since then they haven't
glided right... it gotten worse and i am bad with fiddly crap. is there a
knack or am i just stupid?

Can you give a bit better description of what they are or not doing,
did you change the wiper arms, blades, or the entire wiper motors ?

don't ask leading questions , IF they fitted correctly then the should
"glide"
not gliding would suggest trying one of them on another brand and
observing the results.

I know with my EA some brands were too ridig, other to slack and some just
missed a large area which i think goes back to being too rigid. I bought a
set reasonably pricerd from Autobahn that seem to be just right, and a
cheap brand they also arent effected by heat up here in Queensland a product
named Auto car replacement blades in a red and blue pack

need some carcinogenic trichloroethylene to wipe off the rubber residue off
the glass, glides like silk then :)

just ask all the poor pricks that were in the airforce 20 years ago, most of
them who used it had no protective clothing on and used their bare hands,
not surprisingly most of them succumbed to brain tumors.

nope, its an industrial solvent.
full pressure fed self contained breathing suits are required to use it
safely.
