Hi Group
Just to let all you people who tried to help me with my
fairlane's Transmission,I dropped the Dextron oil and replaced it with
TQ 95 LE the transmission is changing gears a lot quicker and running
better however the overdrive is still not working even after rebooting
the transmission 4 times (disconnecting battery)could it be the solenoid ?
as I have taken the car up to 160 klms then at around 95 klms I pull the
Transmission back to third and you can feel it change back from drive
but I can not feel it change to overdrive. The tacho reads around 3500 at
130 klms.Any advice anyone.
Thanks for everyones help.

Thanks for letting us know John. Sound's like it is time to have a look at
the fault codes. They are quite easy to extract with an LED test lamp and
some alligator leads. You will need a Gregory's manual.

Actually, if you have a look at the diagnostics section of the fordmods.com
site you wont need the book.
